Surf Fishing Fishing
The sandy shores of Port St. Joe are a haven for anglers looking to reel in fantastic catches like pompano and whiting. You can find whiting hanging out year-round, but springtime brings pompano in big schools! Bring some FishGum, Sand Flea Fishbites, pink E-Z Shrimp, or fresh shrimp to entice these shimmering beauties. Aiming your cast about 15 to 25 feet near the sandbars is usually a great bet. And as the days warm up, don’t forget to try using Silver Spoons to catch mackerel!
If a more laid-back vibe is what you’re after, then head to the tranquil waters around Apalachicola for some bay fishing. You’ll have a blast targeting trout, redfish, and flounder!
